Fabric bookshelf

I've put my old sewing machine to good use these past weeks. I'm almost expecting it to fall apart from all this unusual pressure. LOL

Anyhow, this is my latest project, a couple of "bookshelves" for my boys. :)

Made out of fabric of course, I don't have a magical sewing machine that can handle wood.
So, my kiddos picked out this fabric at IKEA, and I also got the perfect-sized IRJA curtain rods over there. 10 sek a piece, can you believe it?! I bought 4 for this.
Since I'm a true novis at sewing, I'm sticking to straight pieces of fabric, and only zig-zag and simple straight seams. Easy peasy.

A couple of (fairly straight) seams later, and some drillinghelp from my handy handyman man haha ...here they are! Some of the teddybears quickly found their home in there too.

A closeup. For now the rear rod is just resting on the brackets, but I think I'll have to come up with a solution to make it stay there.

Kids love it though :) *phew*

Gift box

Lately I haven't been crafting that much in paper, but a few days ago I made this flowered gift box for my sister-in-law. Made and made...I merely decorated the box, but that counts for something, neh? :)

It was a plain white box that I covered with paper, this velvety blue/brown around the most part but for the sides I used a paper with the same blue print, without the brown velvet. Then I decorated with a paper bow, some flowers and butterflies. I put my greeting on a coffee stirrer, almost like a sunflower, raising above it all.

My MINT project inspired me to do more word jokes, so here's a 10 seconds post about a late nite snack pack for the hubby. That is - I did the project late - he'll probably eat it on the way from work tomorrow evening. :)
It's a bag of sorted nuts and raisins (and btw, I've got one for that too, later) that I simply stapled a personalized topper onto: "Nuts about you"...

Now, I'm off to bed!

It's been a whole lot of sewing going on here lately!

I believe I ended up with 14 or 15 of these little sweethearts, this years Valentine-project. :) You know what they are, right?

Warmers in the shape of a heart, filled with rice, beans, wheat and whatnots. I even added some scent in the form of mint teabags! LoL
Just put it in the microwave for a minute and you'll have a warm cosy "beanbag" for your frozen fingers.
OR, you can keep it in the freezer to cool down swellings, bug bites or even for headache. Being a mother of two active boys, mine will definitively go in the freezer. ;)

I made some fitting tags and safety-pinned it directly onto the heart (with directions on how to use the hearts on back) and sent my boys to school and daycare with a bunch for their teachers, and gave others away to friends.
Both making and giving was super fun! I should do stuff like this more often...

Nu ska jag försöka mig på en tutorial till. :)

Det här är en beskrivning till hur man viker ett minialbum på 8 uppslag av ett ark (30x30cm) papper, liknande det som jag skrev om i det här inlägget.

Du behöver: ett designpapper (alt. cardstock) 30x30cm, skärverktyg, linjal, ev. penna, falsben (eller nåt liknande att skåra arket med), dubbelhäftande tejp och rund eller fyrkantig punch. I mitt fall är den runda ca 3.5cm och den fyrkantiga ca 2cm, men storleken är valfri.

Börja med att mäta upp pappret och skåra vid 7.5cm, 15cm och 22.5cm på både längden och bredden så att du får ett rutnät med 16 lika stora rutor (Jag har ritat för att synliggöra, men man kan såklart skåra direkt).

Sen skär eller klipper man längs de linjer som jag har markerat extra mycket; alltså längs de tre översta och nedersta rutorna skär man till höger, och i mittenraden skär man tre rutor åt vänster.

Vänd på arket och lägg det som bilden visar, med sidan med två snitt i mot dig.

Dags för vikningen. Börja längst till vänster och (1) vik över. Se till att vika kant i kant, och dra längs vecket med falsbenet. Vik (2) under och (3) över, hela tiden noga med kanterna. Vid (4) viker man under/bakom. Fortsätt sedan ner i nästa rad likadant (över, under, över och under/bakom), och så hela vägen till nedre högra hörnet. Kom ihåg att dra med falsbenet för skarpa fina veck.

Du ska nu ha en prydlig liten stapel, såhär.

Ställ stapeln upp på bordet för att avgöra vilken sida som är "rätt". De två yttersta uppslagen ska vara öppna mot dig, och mittenbladet (vid pilen) ska vara öppet nertill och stängt uppåt.

Nu är det snart dags att tejpa ihop boken, och skapa fickor till tags. Jag upptäckte snabbt att det kan vara rejält förvirrande med bladen som öppnas åt alla håll, så för att inte av misstag tejpa ihop en ficka punchar jag ut små "grepp" på den sida jag vill lämna öppen. Det blir alltså upp, sidan (den är ju öppen åt två håll så man kan göra som man vill iofs), upp, fram, upp, sidan (samma sak här), upp.

Första fickan är uppåt, knipsa bort valfri form med punchen. Jag har gjort runda på mina andra så nu var jag tvungen att prova nåt nytt. :)

Snipp, snapp...

För sidofickan valde jag ett rakt snitt (fast på snedden allså) för att matcha kantigheten på de andra sidorna, men det är riktigt snyggt med cirkelpunchen (se Good times meander fold... )!

Uppåt och framåt.

Färdigknipsat! Nu ska det tejpas.

Vik upp första fickan och sätt tejp nertill och baktill (på det blå krafset), pressa ihop. Tack vare knipsningen ser man lätt var tejpen ska vara. :) Gör likadant albumet igenom.

På sidofickan ska det bara vara tejp baktill.

Klart att fyllas och dekoreras efter eget huvud.

Jag har inte gjort det här, men OM man tänker inka /distressa kanterna bör man göra det innan tejpningen, för då kan man komma åt att färga insidan av fickan lite också (snyggt om man har enkelsidigt papper).

Tangled T. The tutorial (på svenska)

Jag borde verkligen sluta kolla på snygga saker på Pinterest mitt i natten! Jag kan inte för mitt liv hitta beskrivningen på den busenkla scarfen i dagsljus... så här är min egen beskrivning av hur jag gick tillväga.

Du behöver: en t-shirt av herrmodell utan sidosömmar och en sax (jag har använt ett skärverktyg med linjal eftersom ALLA mina saxar är för slöa för tyg. Det funkade också bra.)

Ju större storlek (bredd) på t-shirt, desto längre blir halsduken/halsbandet. Denna är stl L.

Klipp bort fållen, men släng inte den. Klipp sedan av tröjan under ärmarna, så du får ett fyrkantigt dubbelt tygstycke.

Klipp eller skär tyget i remsor rakt igenom båda tyglagren, men lämna ett par centimeter "helt" tyg vid ena sidan. Det är inte så noga hur breda remsor du gör (här är de 3 cm), eller ens att alla är lika breda eller helt raka. :)

Fatta tag i en remsa (kroka in fingret i öglan), håll emot på andra sidan och draaa i tyget så det töjer sig och liksom snurrar ihop sig runt sig själv.

Samla ihop det "hela" tyget i handen, plocka fram fållen och klipp till en bit att knyta ihop det med. Snygga till ändarna och forma till tyget runt knuten.

Här ser ni andra sidan av knuten. Denna hamnar i nacken, med själva knuten inåt.

Klappat och klart! Busenkelt, eller hur? :)

Jag har en känsla av att jag inte får ha dem ifred... :) Helt klart en snyggare modell än jag själv att visa upp dem på iaf.

Tangled T-scarf

Late last night I was browsing the inspirational treasure-chest that is Pinterest (love love love it!!) and stumbled upon this "gotta-try"-thingie. I actually almost got out of bed to try right then and there :)

Can you believe this is made from a t-shirt?? A cosy comfy scarf/neclace made with just a T-shirt and a pair of scissors. I just HAD to try this. :)
Now, the only colors I had at home was this beige or a bright bright red, and I didn't feel very red today.
I think I need to buy me some more colors now...

good times meander fold mini album

So, this is my second mini album. I'm having SO much fun making these, and it really is super easy so I recommend you to have a go at it too. :) I found a tutorial on Youtube some time ago (sadly I can't remember exactly what it was so I can't give credits, but just search for "meander mini album" and I'm sure you'll get there), and first I couldn't almost believe that it was possible to make a mini with all this space for photos and tags, using just a single sheet of 12x12 paper for the pages. Whoever came up with that idea in the beginning?? Awsome. :)

A sneak peak at all the tags and flaps sticking out everywhere. For the cover, I tried on a design that I thought out along the way, but I'll show you a better picture of that further down.

Lots and lots of pages. Each page is 3x3" (7.5x7.5 cm), for obvious reasons. My "photo" stamp has been very useful lately...

The upward-facing tags. Instead of ribbons I used buttons that I thought fitted this layout better.

Two of the pages have pockets that are open both up- and sideways. Normally, one side would be closed but I wanted to do something new and left it open. This allowed for a cute felt flower "handle" in the corner that turned out pretty nice. The punched circle in the center was spot on!

My blooming tags. :) The first one has two felt flowers with a punched circle center, but for the second one I used a plastic flower with two circles on one side, and for the other a smaller nylon flower and a brad center.

For one of the pockets I made a double-tag with a flap. The ball-fringe adds a cool touch, or so I thought. :)

Ok, this is a closeup of my "cover design" with the front, back and spine all in one piece. Most likely someone has already done this, but I actually haven't seen it anywhere around. I like this style much better than previous one I made (forever love mini album), it's looks more like a book this way.
For my next one (already in progress) I'll make the weak spots (i.e. the folds) stronger somehow. Maybe add tape...? I'll let you know! :)

forever love mini album

I've been meaning to try and make a mini album for a long time, they are sooo cute! This is my first try, a mini mini album, measuring 5x5 cm (2x2").

To make the cover more sturdy, I used cardboard and glued it to the back and front of the album.
A nice butterfly paper enhanced with ice stickles, three blue gems and a stamped sentiment made a pretty front.

The album pages are made from two long strips of paper, scored and folded accordion style. Each fold also makes pockets for tags, all but one facing upwards.

Flipping through the pages. Place for photos and journaling tags, plus a tiny pocket with an extra tag.

There you have it! I'm hooked.... and already working on my next mini. :)

The making of the Sunshine bag made me wanna do more see-through stuff, so here's another one for you.

A rose is a rose is - in this case, a rub-on. I found a paper with the same rose shape as the rub-on (not even from the same brand), and used that for the backdrop.

It would have been even more cool if the roses were facing the same direction, but as it were they are laterally reversed. Naja, you can't have it all. :)

For the sentiment I made a tag and glued it to the inside of the bag, with a white rub-on frame on the outside. Both tag and frame continues around the corner, wich gives a nice touch.

So, once more, from the top. As you can see, I decided to go without the handles this time. The rose in the back already covered one if the holes so I just put a butterfly sticker over the other one.
To match that, I used a cute little charm along with the ribbon and bow on the front.

Now, I just need to find something to fill it with, and someone to give it too. :)

Sunshine in a bag

As promised, no more christmas. So how about I give you sunshine in a bag? It's just about time for some spring feelings. :)

I've got these adorable little plastic bags/boxes whatever you call it, and I just felt I needed to do something where I used the fact that they are transparent.

I came up with this 3D-look that I think turned out pretty nice. What do you think? ;)

The super-duper cute birdies are a see-through puffy sticker I've been longing to use but never found the right place for, until now. The row of flowers are cut from a scrap paper piece, and on top of that some sort of semi-transparent nylon flower, with a brad center.

I used various papers from my "leftover"-stash to create the backdrop. The sky already had clouds on it, but I added a few more, plus a cutout cloud for depth. For the sun a "check me out"-yellow and a bit of "spot on"-green as grass. ;)

I added a cloud and a hot air balloon to the front because I didn't want the knots to show...and I also had a little mishap with the cloud so now the front is all bubbly... :( Naja, happens.
Anyway. Later I found that the front cloud added a really cool effect to the whole thing, see? Ooh I like it when these things happen, unintentionally.

So, this is the back. I just cannot leave it with a white side facing out, so I added this sky piece with a pink birdie. Almost looks like it's saying something with the beak open like that, but I never found out exactly what....

The very last of christmas

This week, while coughing and snoring (aint THAT typical January, seems I'm always struck with a cold this time of year) I went along and tossed out the trees - all three of them!! :) - and put my christmas back in the boxes. Always a bit sad to do so, cause we really like the holiday season in my home. But since we don't wanna have christmas ALL year around, it's bound to be done.

Anyway. While doing that, I realised I forgot to post this little happy snowman greetingbox. Oh noo!!

It's app. 5 cm in diameter and if I remember correctly, the box was originally a bubblegum container. The lovely mr. Snowman is a sticker.

There were no actual purpose for doing this, but it's been a while since I last made a box like this and that's purpose enough for me.

A string of pearls, kinda. The lighting varies a lot in these photos, I'm sorry for that.

Once again a big Xmas. This was an order from a friend, for a friend. :)
Don't think I'll ever get tired of making letters, I looove letters in any shape, and combined with christmas it just can't go wrong. ;)

A greyish colorscheme, with a hint of red for highlights. I choosed a striped paper for the X, and used quite a lot of stamping over it, to get a softer look.

I've grown kinda fond of these pine cone-stamps, and they really look great here! A few strokes with a red pen on the ribbon, a bloodred heart (what else?), and a touch of red around the edges and I'm done.

I also matted the "merry"-tag with red paper, and found a punch with a santa-hat in my stash that's just so funny for the silver reindeer.

baby girl baptism

I had to have a break from snowmen, santas, tinsel and wrapping paper, and decided it was perfect time to make the card for Ebba's baptism. It ended up very very pink....

For the front I used a border punch with cute little hearts, a greeting stamp and big bold bow threaded through the card. (Yep, I did trim the ends before giving it away, seems I was in a bit of a hurry to take these pics ;))

A really sweet paper for this card. With the delicate flower branches it needed only very little effort to look stunning, so I just enhanced the twigs with a thouch of ice stickles in crystal and pink. To match the bold-colored bow I matted the greeting with a cherry paper, again with the heart shaped border.

For the chrisom I tried something I've thought about since I made the wedding dress card (Here comes the bride[card]); to make a chrisom with the same technique. :) I soon discovered it needed a few adjustments as I went along, but the original idea is still there with the folded skirt (even though you can't see it in these photos).

The pink petticoat is stamped with a floral swirl, then heat embossed in Bridal for that shimmering look. For the hemline a touch of ice stickles. The vellum dress is open to reveal the petticoat. For the borders I used a pair of pattern scissors and then the tip of a pen to make the dots....wich aren't that visible here...naja. You can see the glittering twigs a bit in this pic though.

I needed something to draw attention to the chrisom without taking over the card, so I made the dress "fall out" from a small chipboard frame. A flower sticker in the same color as the bow looks nice on the top, and pearls are always pretty (and covers up the joint between the top and bottom part of the dress).

More matchboxes, and a tag to match

Sorry you guys, it's been a while since I posted anything here. It's just... this time of year is craaazy, and I love it! :)

I decorated some more matchboxes, this time as part of a christmas gift for my son's teachers.

They're all different, but still goes kinda well together.

I also made some quick tags, that I think turned out really well. Just three stamps, and a little extra red for the bow. Sweet!

And here's a snapshot of the finished gift.

Bigger bolder Xmas

I got a request for a bigger "Xmas" letter, so I made one in 18 cm instead of my usual 7 cm.

The X is made with shimmering white cardstock, stamped randomly with a vintage christmascard stamp in black.

The "merry"-tag and an adorable little reindeer in silver glitter.

Since the X was bigger, I had to make a new template for the "mas"-part. I changed the font also because it looked better this way. :) Onto the already heavy patterned paper I stamped and heat embossed a swirly stamp in black. A mother-of-pearl heart, and a couple of rhinestone embellished snowflakes felt right here.

Fair[y] and square

Some days ago I brushed up an oooold card of mine, to send as a birthday card. Seems I was into squares back then :) Anyway, I just added the fairy sticker in the upper left corner cause I felt something was missing there.

For the inside, I kept it simple with one of my fave sentiments, a grass stamp, some ice stickles and a butterfly, and it was good to go.

Match up matchbox

Tis the season....to make gifts! :) Everyone deserves a litte somethin' this time of year. These matching sets of candles and matches (yes, pun VERY intended ;)) was made for our sweet Mixgruppen-leaders Maria & Ingela.

I fell for these ahdorable ornament-shaped candles, aren't they the cutest? ...and the sparkliest ever too, there's glitter all over my house now. LOL

Purple candles needs a purple box of course. I already had my eye on this santa sticker for this, and even found some purple snowflake? star? naja... He looked jolly so I went with Ho ho ho for sentiment. :)

Almost forgot to photograph this one. ;) The ornament candles in gold/copper had a flower pattern wich I embellished with a red center.

The trees are cut by hand, and the left one heat embossed with a copper swirl. The happy snowman is part of a sticker, and I also added a few golden leaves and little red bling.

A bonus box. :) This is my own match box, made a few years ago.

Happy birthday greeting box

It's been a while since my last mini box, but this weekend I had a chance to make a box for a birthday girl. It's a girly girl box with lace and "diamonds", all in pink of course. The lace is really more pink than this...hm. A pink birthday sticker fitted perfectly on top.

Flowers, and more pink, inside...

My son wrote the greeting (the girls name) inside, and I embellished each square with a small flower/butterfly/note sticker. That's it! Easy peasy. :)

Christmas treats

This year it'll be super fancy christmas candy in this house...or atleast that's the plan. LOL
We bought chocolate molds and will give it a try with filled chocolate, along with the usual knäck and marzipan figures of course.
Anyway, this made me think about making a box for all the goodies. Now, I don't know if it means we'll fail, or that we'll eat it all at once, but this box is only 9x10 cm... :D The cute deer from The greeting farm 's Forest friends was just right for this.

A touch of Glossy accent on the eye.

I made a little window to display the treats, cutting a hole through the lid and covering it with acetate from the back, and with a scalloped border on the front.

I needed chocolate for this photo, but we still haven't made any "real" ones, so I'm just using a trial batch here. :)

Yet another Home, this time for my sweet friend Anja. Black and white and a hint of red on her wishlist. :)

I went with balloons flying over the treetops here. Heat embossed silver fir and a few red blings along with the big shiny tag made the H complete.

Balloon out of focus, I guess it's becasue it's so far away..? ;)

A little bit of everything; butterflies, pearls and heat embossing.

I really like the vellum mini tag.

Swirls whirls all over the place. Some are in the paper, some embossed. The black one is a felt swirl. For the big heart I wanted shine so I tried out aluminum tape for the first time. It's shiny alright... and I like it. The small heart brad wasn't the right color for me, so I used nail polish to make it this yummy deep crimson red. LOL Anything goes, right?

Yup.

Ok, you can't see it here, but the "is" is very shiny. These chipboard letters was the reason for the "shinyness" on the other decors, there's gotta be some consequence to bind the word together...and speaking of binding; have you noticed the scrap of red twine everywhere? :)

Last, but not least, I put the initials of all the family members on the side of the word, along with a few hearts and the word "love".

I neded a box for the black/white X since it would go by mail. Of course I couldn't stop myself from decorating the box also.

Paper rose tutorial

I loooove making paper roses!! Both because they're so stinkin' cute AND because they're super easy to make. I thought I'd show you how to make a folded paper rose. :)

So, this is how you do it...

You'll need this: paper, scissors, circle punch (or anything round really) and fast drying glue ( I use Glossy accent). Ink is optional.

First, make the circle. Punch, or trace a round object and cut it. The bigger the circle, the bigger the rose... duuh. :O

Cut circle into a spiral, no need to be precise here. Mind you, the width of the spiral cut determines the hight and affects the size of the rose. A narrow cut = a flatter, wider rose... As you can see, I also snip off the tip of the spiral. No real reason for that, I just don't feel I need it. :)

Now, fold the edges of the spiral a little, pinching it between you fingers as shown, all the way around.

After wich, it should look something like this, back and front showing. If you wanna ink the edges a bit now is the time. I ink the first part (what will later be center of the rose) a bit more, and just here and there on the rest.

Now, starting from the outside going in, make a tight roll of the paper spiral.

I hold it like this while I roll it to make sure the bottom edge is fairly aligned. That's where you glue later, and it's easier to make a nice rose then.

Rollin' rollin' rollin'...

The last bit of paper will form the base of the rose. Just pinch it a little, and give the rose a light squeeze between your fingers, with a thumb on the bottom and the indexfinger on top of the rose. Then....

...let go!!

Leave it for a while on your desk and watch it evolve from a paper roll into a rose. When satisfied with the size, pick it up agian.

Hold it upside down like this, and put a fair amount of glue over the base. Fold over the flap and hold for a few seconds. Now is the time to shape the rose into final form; push, squeeze and adjust.

Place it on the desk again, and give it a proper squeeze with your thumb. This will make the back nice and flat.

All done! Easy peasy, huh? :)

So, that's the folded rose, but as you might have seen on my first photo, there are other roses too. I don't fancy them as much, so I almost never do them, but there's a simple rose where you don't fold the edges, and a scalloped rose where you cut the spiral in a wavy, scalloped shape. Both of these looks better with a double sided paper since you see more of the back on them.

Got to use a card from my stash last weekend (displayed in this post). :) It's really great to have a few (ok ok a LOT) ready-made cards for those last minute gifts. The birthday boy wished for money and I wanted something more than just an envelope to give him, so I made a little gift box to match the card. They DO match, it's just my camera acting up on me here. ;)

All papers used are from DCWV's Thahiti Beach mat stack.

Today's post is a really quick snowman card. That is, it CAN be quickly made, if you wanna. I choose to put a little more effort into it today, with ice stickles, paper pen, heat embossing and even a hat. :)

But it can be made also with the three circle punches on top of each other, and some pencils to draw arms and charcoal pieces. A felt carrot nose and felt scarf and it would be nice and easy even for kids.

Handwritten sentiment cause I had no stamp with this text...

For the hat I used half of a punched out circle, a scrap piece for the "brim" and a blue dew drop on top.

Butterflies in da house!

I've made a fluttering creation for a butterfly girl.

I know three important things about her; this girl's cutting-edge, with house in her heart and butterflies up her sleeve, so I really wanted to incorporate all of that into her letter.

The look on the J turned out like this cause this is how I apprehend her; the colorful (in every sense of the word) vintage/retro style I think (I hope!!) is spot on Johanna. :)

A little white on white stamping (and embossing) is always right.

I found this super cute pair of scissors in a jewelry store and just HAD to have them for this project, cause one thing she cuts is hair. ;)

Some more wise words...I like this one a lot.

She may love butterflies, but I love roses (you know that by now) so naturally I found a place for roses. Butterflies loves roses too... ;)
Each tiny butterfly has inked edges and a glittery body.

'My heart needs house and love'

I was searching for a vinyl record charm but didn't find any, so eventually I came up with this sentence instead, puzzling it together with a few odd words from various stamps. I think it's VERY true for her. :)

More button bracelets

I couldn't stop myself from making a few more bracelets.

It's made just like the teal/green one in my previous post, but this time I threaded it tighter and that was better.

I really like the colors in this one, so autumny. Chestnut, ivory, walnut, maple, pumpkin, amber....very much autumn. :)

Then I experimented with some other techniques, like threading with a thick wire. I'm thinking about remaking the top bracelet though, cause I've found a neat little button that would be nice in between the big ones. We'll see. Too bad the turqouise button looks so plain here, it's really a very nice shimmery button. :P

Very comfy on the wrist. :)

For the two bracelets here I tried using a ribbon instead of thread. A loop works as the clasp, I think. Not that easy to put on singlehandedly. Hmm...

A single ribbon for the red/white bracelet...

...and a double for the ivory/brown one.

If you manage to put it on, it looks pretty good.

I'll think about these threading techniques some more, they're not perfect...yet. Hahaha :D

Was thinking I ought to DO something with my buttons... So I googled of course, cause that's what you do nowadays, and got quite a few ideas. :) This is my first project, a button bracelet in teal and green.

For this I used buttons ;) and elastic thread, made small piles of two or three buttons and just threaded through each button. You can't really see it, but every other button is a simple, smaller button that will be on the inside of the bracelet.

All piled up. :)

There are so so many cute buttons! If you look closely, you might catch a glimpse of the 'back' buttons.

This was so much fun and easy to make! I'm sure I'm gonna have loads of bracelets soon... :)

...and so I did, haha! I'm sorry for the poor picture quality but it's pitch black outside and I just couldn't find a brighter lamp at this time. :P

A bunch of shimmering button bracelets.

I think I have a thousand of these golden honey colored button-ish buttons! Luckily, cause it took quite a few to make this one... and it turned out pretty alright. Hard to even tell it's buttons.

This bracelet was a bit more tricky. I wanted the small gray button to stay in place between the large white ones but it didn't go my way at all. Maybe if I had a wire and made it a more solid type...I dunno. Naja, I don't have any wire so I came up with the idea of a small supporting button in the back (like on the first one), so that the white button is wedged in between the smaller buttons. It's working so-so, but it'll do for now.

The red/gold bracelet actually is the simplest. It's just one layer of buttons all the way around, on top showing the button with golden rim, and for the back a plain red button.

A bit crowded with all three on the same wrist, but it's just to show you what it looks like to wear them.

Now there won't be any more bracelets done tonight (it's almost midnight here), but I do have a stack of autumny buttons waiting for me... :)

a cover up

I was asked to spruce up the cover of a recipe book for Mixgruppen. :) Since it'll be handled by a lot of people I needed the decorations to be sustainable. I ended up with a rather flat decor, covering the whole thing with several layers of varnish to make it tough enough. A striped paper for base, and on top of that the festive row of pennants, cut from another designer sheet aswell as the little birdies. Sadly it's not really showing on these photos how glittery and cute they are. :/

A bunch of colorful ribbons tied along the spine add a whimsical tone to the otherwise kinda flat layout, corresponds nicely to the pennants and are eaisly replaced when worn out.

A closeup on the 'title' tag, matted with light blue paper to match the flower. The top flower and center brad is btw the only thing not completely flat on the LO. It needed something to 'pop'. :)

The back. My only real reson for decoration here (besides the chance to put my blog name on it ;)), was the ugly barcode. It bugged me.

So, a scrap paper, a penguin and a mini pennant later; ugly barcode is no more. :)

Oh ja, the three flaps on the side are index cards for 'food', 'sweets' and 'other good stuff'. There's room for two more categories, but I thought it to be enough like this. I later laminated them for sustainability.

Letters in pink and white for Ebba, a cutie pie baby girl. All papers used are from DCWV's Nana's Nursery Mat Stack: Baby Girl.

Itty bitty paper roses are mandatory. :)

Being a word nerd I of course adore this cute text-paper, and it fits perfectly here. I let the paper speak for itself and just added a few stamped hearts before mounting it to the letter. Some butterflies and the circle with 'Our' and I'm done.

Here I placed the word 'lovely' in a frame, and added a delicate stroller from Karen Marie Klip, embellished with Paper pen-pearls.

The swirl die cut wasn't the right color so I heat embossed it several times to make it fit in. The word 'little' in shape of a banner, and a sweet bunny doll I found in Shanghai (from a set of paper doll-stickers, sooooo cute).

Paper roses again....I'm addicted! For the 'girl'-flag I simply used a pin, and the ragdoll is another Karen Marie Klip.

Idag satte stora julfeelingen in. Jag vill pyssla julsaker, NU!

Slängde ut en fråga lite sådär bara, och det visade sig att jag har flera supersöta vänner som vill köpa en sån här Xmas-bokstav av mig. Åååååh så kul, då har jag ju giltig anledning att julpyssla. ;)

Xmas, med ung. utseende som på bilden, ca 7 cm hög, kostar 100:- plus ev. porto.

Jag tänkte såhär dårå, för jag har alltså inga färdiga bokstäver; Du som vill ha en Xmas, var snäll och lämna en kommentar på det här inlägget så får jag lite koll på ung. hur många jag ska knåpa ihop. Om ni har speciella önskemål ang. färgerna så fixar jag nog det. :)

a home in black and white

This set I made as a gift. I thought it to be extra applicable considering the recipients has been living abroad for some 8 years, in various countries. :)

I wonder how many 'homes' I've done by now...? This one is all black and white, wich proved to be quite a challenge, but it worked out nicely in the end I think.

On the left side it's a leaf swirl rub-on, and to the right I used a text stamp in the background, before adding the metal tag/plate.

Clear skies? Atleast I made the cloud from a piece of clear plastic, stamped and heat embossed in white. 'Raindrops' in black crystal.

Here I added a few swirls 'just because', and some of my fave flowers, with a piece of ribbon posing a leafs.

I just loooove these paper roses, stunning also in black and white.

I also like remakes of stamps, and here my little bird got tail-or fittings *lol*, and I rearranged a TimHoltz-stamp to make the 'your'-word (originally it said 'journey'). The heart is a chipboard covered in striped paper, and on top of that heat embossed swirls to soften the strict look.

Key and heart pendants.

Fairly simple E with black and white polka dot chipboard letters.

Polka dots are repeated in the ribbon holding the mini heart-tag too.

Love birds. For no particular reason. :)

Buttons!!

I recently stumbled upon a hidden treasure, in my mother-in-law's garden shed. Who would have thought? :) Now I feel almost like Scrooge McDuck, only I'm wading through buttons, not money. LOL

Here's what I've sorted out so far, app. 30 kg out of the atleast 70 kg well-hidden stash. Look at all that color!! ( I say, starting off with the white ones, haha!)

While sorting, sizing and cleaning all of these buttons I realised some are super cool and really pretty, but even the plain ones have their charm and can be stunning when used right.
I also came to think; who designs all these millions and millions of buttons? Pretty cool job.. :)

Now, go one more time and look closer at the pictures. Look at what a fab thing a button is, and what a variety of color and shape there are. Beautiful. :)

Wedding purse

I made this adorable little purse as a greeting for a 'retro'-wedding. Kinda 1950's feeling to it, no? Atleast that was my intention. :) I used the same template (najaa, it's really just in my head and not a template at all, but still..) as in the Birthday bag post, wich you'll find here if you're a curious person like me. ;) They are even both red. Haha :)

Polka dots all over! Both design paper and 'handles' are speckled with those super duper cute tiny dots. [What's up with that anyway? Howcome dots evenly spread on a paper is soooo cute?? hmm..]
The card base again is cardstock, this time soft shimmering white, edges inked in brown. On the raspberry-red dottypaper I inked in brown and sew along the edges using a golden brown thread. Lace and ball fringe match the handles/ribbon nicely. Notice the heartshaped paper clip I used for a lock.

The key to my heart...

Paper roses, my new absolute fave when it comes to embellishment! :) They are just adorably cute, and amazingly easy to make. Love it!

For the inside, I used a rose patterned paper in pink and green. It's no perfect match to the cover, but it's not an absolute must to have the lining fit the outside of a purse. ;)
I stamped various hearts along the side and two rings to the top, added the greeting and a few extra decorations, and I'm done.

A small wedding couple in the corner too...

These are the front and back of the circle on the inside. Some stitching here too, every part of the card is stitched actually.

The back, kept simple as always. :)

Just a tiny little luggage label for that extra something. I'm a sucker for details. :)

Combined card/envelope-box

This is my first ever card/envelope/box-thingie, wich I made to fit a gift certificate. It goes without saying but... it's for a birthday. ;)

Hmm, from above it looks slightly askew. I'm pretty sure it was, too. LOL :)
Made out of blue cardstock, and very colorful and party-ish paper. I really like all the glittery pennants.

When opened, it first looks like this, with my sweet little penguin on the loose again. Actually one of the few times I've used the entire penguin, partyhat and all.

Remove gift certificate and find the birthday greetings. The penguin is hanging only from the balloons, so he'll remain in the card.

A closer look. The Grattis-streamer is simply stapled to the left side, and mr. Penguin's lost a balloon.

Is this a box, or an envelope, or what??

Birthday bag

I was asked by a friend to make a card in autumny colors, and if I could come up with something in a different shape that was more than welcome. After sifting through some magazines I came up with the idea of a hand bag. :)

A creme cardstock base folded with a double (hm, actually it's a triple fold) crease and then cut with a curvy cutter. Edges inked in brown to soften. The handles are double punched circles with stitching. On top of that a layer of designer paper with stitches along the edge. Two ribbons, one with brown ball fringes and one in mustard velvet with added belt buckle embellishment, runs across the lower part of the bag. Finally a BIG multilayered flower with a fuzzy brown brad for centerpiece.

For the back of the bag I just added the ribbons. A back is a back, no? ;)

Here's the bottom with the tri-fold.

There was room for a small tag also....

When opened, the card looks like this. Maybe a bit hard to tell from this pic, but the brown circles that kinda float freely inside, are actually attached to the base with clear plastic strips. This makes them almost pop out of the card. :)

These are the flip sides of my 'pop' circles. Yeah, I know I just said a back is a back, but I just can't leave them empty. :)

The bag from an angle. With the bottom trifold the card is able to stand like a real bag. A wee bit of lace around the handle keeps the bag/card closed.

Tonight I finally took the time to make this dress-card for a contest, due on sunday. I'm otherwise veeery good at thinking I'm gonna....just to find out that submission date was yesterday. :P
Template (and contest) from Ziro.

I used a shimmering creme cardstock for the skirt base, cut and folded accordingly. Before attaching the lace border 'petticoat', I inked outside edges lightly with Atlantic inkpad.

A closeup on the inked edges and lace (the lace is fretted in blue also, it's not ink smudges ;)). The skirt overlay is made of white vellum, stamped in Atlantic and heat embossed in Silver Pearl for that extra shine.

Here you can see the different layers. The vellum is attached only under the top of the dress for a softer, more romantic look.

For the top (wich I btw altered slightly from the template) I got some more lace, a small border of vellum with a string of mini pearls and a heap of Pearl pen-pearls. A creme flatback heart is the icing on the [wedding] cake. ;)

A really fun card to make with all the itty-bitty details, lovely!

Paper rose necklace

I've made myself a necklace. Ever since I came across a tutorial about making paper roses (as usual, can't remember where I saw it.. :P) I've had this idea in my head. Yesterday, just hours before going to a big party, I decided to give it a try. :)

Luckily the rose itself isn't too hard to do, so I was able to finish and go to the party with a brand new necklace. The pink and turqouise color scheme matched my outfit perfectly. But since it was my first try, and I had very little time, there are a few odd things about it that I'm most likely to do differently next time.

This was FUN!!

Here's the final scrap-cards, also very much inspired by the Paper Craft Magazine's Freebie Friday and the use of scrap strips.

Two all-occasion cards where I braided the slips together to make an interlaced mat.

They're pink, and they're slips... getting fired in this form would almost be ok! :D The heart is a chipboard covered with a more fitting color paper.

With the teal card I left the paper slips a bit more uneven, for a 'wilder' look. Stamped and embossed a fence in white on top of the plaid and stuck a button-tag-brad-thingie for the sentiment.

A closer look at the interlacing strips. I put a bit of adhesive where needed, but I liked the unconstrained impression very much, so I kept it to a minimum.

Ok, so I love a circle, or many... and thought this too would be a great way of making use of some stash. The fish scale pattern is so cute, and when combined with baby themes like here...naaw, I'm melting!

Added a bit of orange zest to spice it up.

This one even got decorated inside... :)

Few days ago I stumbled across this super cool idea about making use of scrap papers at Paper Crafts Magazine's Freebie Friday (haha, guess it was last friday I found this then :)) and Betsy’s Scrap Basket Challenge – Revisited. I just fell in love!

Originally this was one big square card, but I suddenly decided to cut them in half. Good choice I think. ;)

The lower half covered with strips of scrap in teal color scheme, with hints of red. A red/white twine and a shiny round button resembling a christmas tree ornament. Simple, fresh.

The top of the card had all these stripes sticking up, and I meant to cut them....but came up with this idea instead. I kinda like it. A felt swirl completes it nicely.

But by now I got my brain boling with ideas about scrap pieces....

The fastest way to get from card base to scrapped creation sometimes is by a shortcut. It can be really nice going down that road from time to time. :) These cards are all made from ready-made card bases, with some add-ons. Perfect for that little note or greeting.

Here's an all-occasion big bow card. With that prominent bow and brad, and some swirly peel-off stickers, it's catchy yet simple in design.

I recently noticed that my table is shiny enough to make reflections of the card in it... Coooool! ;)

This flowered thingie was turned into a monogram card, with some strips of corresponding papers and a gloden chipboard letter.

Who's it for? Well, Mom of course :)

Some brighter cards, with lots of color. For this one I stamped a flower with many thanks, heat embossed in white and added a big flowery brad as the center. A crooked frame and a tiny "thank you"-tag and the card's all done.

Petal peek.

Here I made a striped card again. The idea is similar to the darker card above, but this time I used horisontal strips of paper and let them continue outside the card on both sides.

Just a note... and a wee sticker.

It's Flashback week over at Moving along with the times so I thought I'd take the opportunity to put on display my first ever set of letters. :)
You'll find the original post here, called Home in my heart.

I made these for my own personal use, so I was able to pick the exact colors I wanted for our new living room, matching the wallpaper perfectly!

H with swirls all over, both embossed and die cuts. A zinc tag, a swirl patterned ribbon and two hearts, all joined together with a brad shaped like a button.

The O. A bird with twigs is stamped and embossed to the left, and the turqouise flowers is a rub-on that fitted just perfect here. Some metal decorations, and a slightly transparent butterfly completes the picture.

Mmm... More embossing here in the fence, and on the heart (made from a piece of blue plastic scrap, I just love it when things from the waste bag come to new life).

For the E I enhanced the flowery theme and simply added a swirl and glued mini flowers all over. A piece of turqouise ribbon winded around the top, and again some metal embellishment.

In these pictures you can see the message better; HOME is where your [heart] is.

I still like this very much, and hope you'll like it too. :)

Seamless trees

Today I've been trying on some of my latest stamp additions, and since the last sets of stamps were christmasy - christmas cards is what you get. :)

This card base was leftover from the deer card a few days ago (I cut a larger square card in two, and took a piece of this one to make the deer), and that, along with the shape of the trees, inspired me to make this 'invisible opening'-thingie. Can you spot the opening? ;)

Peekaboo!

I'm not really sure this is a santa. He looks more like a gnome to me, especially in this 'down-to-earth' costume. :)

Second card got a real simple layout. Too bad you can't really see the lovely shimmer in this card though....
Anyway. Lots of embossing here; first stamped and embossed the outline in black, and then added some extra grace to it with Palm green details. All done!

Deer greetings

This small greeting card is totally inspired by the neoLeo letters.

The same background paper, but this time I didn't bother with the filled star stamp. Instead I used two different greens for the outline stamp, wich adds more 'life' than just one. The dear cutie deer is stamped and trimmed, then glued to the card. Also filled the eye with Glossy accent, just like last time. :) A green dotted ribbon covers the splice between the papers and three brown gems follow up the dots nicely.

"Hi" is made out of chipboard, sprinkled with brown fuzzy glitter. The result reminds me of cookies with cinnamon...(maybe I should even add some cinnamon to make it a scented card :)) LOL

Inside's kept simple with the same green paper as in the lower front, and the deer stamped in green. Lots of room for greetings.

Ok, finally!! :) This is what I've been up to in between vacations and trips here and there.

A friend asked me to make letters for her newborn, and she wanted them green since she loves that color. I've added a little blue because it's a boy, and because just green would make it a bit flat. ;)

L is for Loved

You've already seen a little bit of this in my last post, with the cute deer. I added two hearts on his little tush, and embossed ear and chest with Silver pearl. Also coated the eye with Glossy accent for extra dimension.
Perhaps I should mention the background paper aswell. It's a simple square pattern, with randomly added stamped stars. First a filled star, and on top of that a starry outline stamp wich I embossed. Pretty cool result I might say. :)

The zinc tag with ribbons, an adorable stroller charm and a heart (with some extra left over pearls, great for making "new" embelishments of old stuff), all pinned together with a star shaped brad.
(The word 'Vår' translates into 'Our'.)

Is it a bee? A fly maybe? I dunno. I do know it's kinda cute, and adds extra detail. I like. :)

Flowers are always nice. These are fabric ones, and I've stamped on them with darker blue for extra effect. The center brad is really a snow flake.... but it's alright for this purpose also, no? :)

You've seen this one on other projects, if you've visited my blog before. I like it. I also like to make it just barely visible, on the side of a project. So I did just that this time too. ;)

E is for Enchanting

This was a quite messy background paper, so it needed a lot of embellishment. That might sound weird, but to add large objects on top makes the background less noisy. Luckily the word here (Underbara/Wonderful) was a long one. I also added a strip of paper at the bottom, with some of my beautiful stitching (LOL, this is why I'm doing scrap, not clothes), three buttons and a safety pin.

Two of the letters was switched into these lovely fabric stickers.

Darling penguin on the loose, again. This time with embossed body and Crackle accent belly not to hide the lovely paper too much.

O is for One of a kind

This one's also very much patterned, and yet I added some more. :) All the hearts on the left are stamped, in various colors and some even embossed. The pennants read 'Unge', wich translates to 'Kid'.

The pennant/clothes line.... I often use scrap pieces of paper from the other letters, that binds the project together in a nice and subtle way.

Ett kort till goda vänner som firar sin första bröllopsdag. Gjort enligt principen more is more, med blommor, hjärtan, swirlar och embossing i mängder. Först stämplade jag hjärtan i Vanilla och Atlantic, och sen en omgång till som embossades med Silver pearl. Jag satte 3D-tejp på den stora cirkeln för att skapa lite djup, och där innanför blev det mer mönstrat papper ur samma ark. En brudparssiluett embossad i Gold pearl och en handritad swirl som embossades med Silver pearl.

A card for friends celebrating their first year as husband and wife. Made according to the idea more is more, with lots of flowers, hearts, swirls and heat embossing. I first did the hearts in Vanilla and Atlantic, and then a few more embossed in Silver pearl. Some 3D adhesive makes the big circle frame stand out, and inside that I put some more petterned paper from the same sheet. A wedding couple silhouette in heat embossed Gold pearl, and a hand drawn swirl in Silver pearl.

Pappersblommorna är stämplade och embossade (Gold pearl) och tygblommorna bara stämplade med en mörkare blå ton (Atlantic). Bradsen var först gröna men sen kom jag fram till att jag inte gillade det, så jag tryckte ut guldfärgad 3D-liner över. :) 3D-liner även till de guldiga prickarna (fast tyvärr blev det inte så bra som jag hoppades), och småblommorna fick en gnutta blå Distress stickles i mitten.

The paper flowers are stamped and embossed (Gold Pearl) and the fabric flowers are simply stamped in a darker shade blue (Atlantic). The brads were originally green but I later decided I didn't like that, so I squeezed some golden 3D-liner over them. :) 3D-liner also for the dots (however they didn't turn out very well), and the mini flowers got an ounce of blue Distress stickle in the center.

På insidan av kortet gick jag lös med mina nyköpta swirls. Jag maskade av miten med en bit papper och stämplade med Vanilla. Ett par embossades, såklart.. :P

On the inside I went crazy with my new swirls. I masked off the centre with a piece of paper, and stamped in Vanilla. Heat embossed a few, of course. :P

Det halvgenomskinliga kuvertet blev en rolig detalj.

En beställning till en liten tjej....gissa vad hon heter. ;) Färgen skulle vara rosa, rosa, ROSA!!!

A keepsake for a little girl, who's name is My...wich of course led me in on word games.. :) Orders were: pink, pink, PINK!!!

På sidan av M:et har jag stämplat och embossat vitt i vitt, så att texten bara anas. En användbar stämpel det där. :)

On the side of the M I've stamped and embossed a sentiment. It's white on white, so you just barely can see the words. A very versatile stamp I might add. :)

Mmmm.... :) Rosa, med inslag av rosa.

Mmmmm....:) Pink, with added pink.

Min lilla fågel. Den här gången är stjärtfjädrarna halvgenomskinliga, och magen fick en lätt rodnad med hjälp av rosa stämpelfärg.

My tweet birdie. This time tailfeathers in semi-transparant, and a slight touch of pink on the belly.

Pingvinen med glittermagen fick också vara med. Han har tappat ballongen men hittade ett snöre att hugga tag i.

Mr. Penguin and his shiny belly. :) He's lost his balloon though, but luckily found a twine to hold on to.

Layer upon layer of stamped and embossed flowers, a glittery flower and a flower brad. A couple of leaves also....a few specks of non-pink has to be alright, no? ;)

Why oh why.

Hjärta i hjärta, ett prickigt band - rosa såklart - och en trollsländeberlock.

Heart within heart, dotted ribbons - pink of course - and a dragonfly charm.

Närbild på glitterfjärilen, och litegrann på glittergrenarna (distress stickles + glitter). Småblommorna är utstansade och får sin form med hjälp av ett lätt tryck med en penna.

Glittery butterfly on top, and a quick look at the glittery twigs (distress stickles + glitter). The wee flowers are punched, and shaped by slight pressure with a pencil.

Här ser man de upphöjda blommorna lite lättare kanske. En stämplad slända i förgrunden.

Here you can see the raised flowers a little easier maybe. A stamped dragonfly in the foreground.

Ser ni kaninen? :) Stämplad och embossad i vitt, och hjärtat är stämplat en gång till på ett mönstrat papper, sen utklippt och pimpad med ett par rosa blingstenar.

Can you see the bunny? :) Stamped and embossed in white, and the heart stamped once more on patterned paper, then cut and enhanced with some pink rhinestones.

Ännu en stämpel vitt på vitt, med tänkvärt budskap, även till en liten bebisflicka tycker jag.

Another white on white-stamp, worth considering even for a baby girl I think.

Gratulationskort i blåa toner. Designpappret i sig var så vackert mönstrat att knappt någon annan dekoration behövdes. Ändå kunde jag inte låta bli att rita dit lite swirls på frihand, och embossa dem i Silver pearl. Jag gillar att de bara anas litegrann....

Greetingcard in blue. The designpaper was so beautifully patterned that hardly no other embellishment was called for. However I couldn't stop myself from drawing some swirls by hand, and emboss it in Silver pearl. I like how they're just barely noticable....

Oj, vilken närbild det blev! Glittret på pärlorna ser ut som sockerkristaller här. :)

Whoa, that's close up! The glitter on the beads looks like sugar crystals here. :)

Små bitar sommar i dagens korta inlägg. Först ett cupcakekort....
Small pieces of summer in the short note for today. First a cupcake card...

...med egengjord cupcake av glansigt turkos papper som botten, en molnstämpel stämplad och embossad flera gånger som frosting, och slutligen sockersöt jordgubbe på toppen.

...with homemade cupcake; shiny turquoise paper, a cloud stamp wich I stamped and embossed several times to make frosting, and a sugary sweet strawberry on top.

Sen ett enkelt tackkort i sommarfärger.

Then a simple "thank you"-note in swedish summer colors.

Mitt nya favvoträd fick sommarskrud med hjälp av paper piecing och ice stickles, och hälsningen skrevs på pappersremsa i min gamla hederliga Dymo.

My new favourite tree dressed in summer clothes by means of paper piecing and ice stickles, and the greeting was made on a paper slip in my dear old Dymo.

Flutter and flowers

Ett kort i blå och lila toner, fyllt med fjärilar.

A card in hazy shades of purple and blue, crammed with butterflies.

Fjärilarna är stansade i olika mönstrade och glittriga papper, och flyger lite hur som helst över kortet. Några av dem fick lila glitter på sig, liksom även ett par av blommorna. Hälsningen är stämplad och embossad i vitt.

The butterflies are punched in various designer and glitter papers, and are whimsically fluttering across the card. Some of them got extra glitter, as did some of the flowers in the backing paper. The sentiment is stamped and embossed in white.

A simple round card, a scrap of design paper, a stamp, some glitter and two butterflies. Sometimes that's all you need.

Okej okej, om man ska vara petig är det fyra fjärilar, inte två....men vem räknar? ;)

Ok ok, if we're gonna be finicky about it it's really four butterflies, not two....but who's counting? ;)

Remember this one? It's been on display before, first as a gift box suggestion and later as a completed piece. :) It turned out it wasn't done at all....

Nu har den blivit ett bröllopskort....eller ask eller vad man nu ska kalla det. En vän frågade om jag kunde hjälpa henne med ett kort till brudparet, och jaaa....jag blev lite ivrig kanske? :) Det här blir ett låååångt inlägg med mååånga bilder...

Front side...

Först hittade jag ett papper med text, där jag la till en embossad swirl och lite egen text.

I first found a text patterned paper, where I added a swirl and some text of my own.

Färdig chipboarddekoration, och en bandsnutt med hjärtebrad.

Ready-made chipboard, and a scrap ribbon attached with a heart brad.

Brudparets initialer i silverfärgad chipboard...

Bride and groom initials in silver chipboard...

Stämplar, stämplar. Texten, molnet och ballongerna är alla stämplade direkt på bakgrundspappret. Lite glitter på molnet och paper piecing på den stora ballongen + ett par blingstenar ger extra dimension.

Stamps, stamps. The sentiment, cloud and balloons are all stamped directly onto the backing paper. A few specks of glitter on the cloud and paper piecing on the big balloon + some rhinestones adds extra dimension.

På denna förstärkte jag kvisten på pappret med glitter, och la till ett par utstansade blommor. Enkelt men effektfullt.

On this one I simply enhanced the twig on the paper with glitter, and added a few punched flowers. Simple yet catchy.

Denna gillar jag! Först stämplade jag en egen hälsning runtom kanten, sen provade jag en ny typ av blomma som jag sett nånstans. Ganska lätt att göra, och slutresultatet är riktigt snyggt. :)

I like this one! First I stamped a greeting around the edge, then I tried out a new kind of flower I'd seen somewhere. Pretty easy to make, and end result is stunning. :)

Fina blomman.

Fjärilar. Så förvånande. :) Bakgrundspapprets motiv förstärkt med en liten blingblomma och Perfect pearls.

Butterflies. How unusual. :) Backing paper 's motif enhanced with a small bling flower and Perfect pearls.

Den här texten är fin i sig själv och behöver ingen extra dekoration, men så hittade jag duvan... Perfekt!

Texten är stämplad med genomskinlig "färg", och lite rosa på valda delar, och sen embossad i Silver pearl.

This sentiment stands on it's own and needs no addings, but then I found the dove...perfect!
I stamped the sentiment in clear "color", and added a hint of pink here and there, then embossed with Silver pearl.

Det sista pappret var helt enkelt så passande att det inte krävdes nån mer text. Småhjärtan stämplade med Ash rose, sedan sparsamt embossade i Silver detail så det rosa syns också. Duvorna med ringarna är en söt liten stickers.

The last paper was simply so right for the occasion that adding more text would ruin it. Tiny hearts in Ash rose, thriftily embossed with Silver detail to let the rose color shine through. The doves and rings are stickers.

Fler kort på samma tema, fast ändå inte alls. :) Ff samma grundskiss, men den här gången på högkant.

Some more cards based on the same idea, and yet not at all. :) Still the same base, but this time flipped upright.

Först ett mycket enkelt kort, med fokus på min nyaste stämpel. Jag känner på mig att det här retroträdet kommer att bli flitigt använt. Paper piecing is da shit. *s* Allvarligt talat, jag är helkass på promarkers och inks och sånt där, så att stämpla motivet flera gånger på olika mönstrade papper passar mig sååå mycket bättre. Lite extra bling i form av lite distress stickles blev pricken över i. Vet inte riktigt varför det blev ett så höstigt kort dock....

The first card is very simple, focusing on my latest addition in stamps. I have a feeling this retro tree will be diligently stamped with. Paper piecing rocks! *lol* Seriously, I suck at using promarkers and inks and whatnot, so stamping the motif several times on different patterned papers, and then cut and paste, is the thing for me. Some added sparkle with distress stickles is icing on the cake here. Dunno why I made such a fall inspired card though...

Mmmm, det här kan man inte kalla höstigt iaf. :) Enkla rena linjer, och krispigt färgval. Jag ville använda bläckfiskpappret här eftersom jag tyckte om färgkombinationen, och när jag hittade chipboardglassen var jag hemma! Nästan så man vill sätta tänderna i kortet. *mums*

Mmm, this is far from fall! Clean & simple, and crisp colors. I wanted to use the octopus paper here because I liked the color combination, and when I found the chipboard ice cream it all came together beautifully! Almost feel like having a bite. Yummy!!

Den sista blev också till för att jag gärna ville ha med det fina pappret i nåt projekt. Jag har bara stämplat och embossat "Surf's up!" i ena kanten, och hottat till bandet med ett par svarta rhinestones.

Nu får det nog vara slut med den här typen av kort för ett tag. Jag har en hel del beställningar av olika slag på G just nu, så håll utkik efter nya blogginlägg. :)

Ok, so this last one also happened because I wanted to use the pretty paper. I just added the stamp 'Surf's up!' along the edge, and put a few black rhinestones on the ribbon. CAS for sure. :)

Enough of these cards, atleast for a while. I've got some orders coming up, so keep looking for new posts here. :)

One hug isn't enough

De senaste dagarna har jag gjort kort, flera på raken. Det är ju lika bra att fortsätta så länge det finns inspiration. :) Först blev det tre snarlika kort, fast i helt olika stilar.

Jag gillar texten, den passar till det mesta.

The last few days I've been making cards, several in a row. Might aswell keep going as long as there's inspiration for it. :) First I made three similar cards, but in different styles.

I like the sentiment, it's so versatile.

Det sista - som var det första jag gjorde - har cirklar och sjärnor som genomgående tema. Enkelt, men snyggt. Jag gillade färgkombon med ljusgrönt/orange här.

The last card - and the first one I made - has circles and stars consistently. Simple, yet neat. I liked the color combination light green/orange here.

Det enda av korten som fått insida, eftersom jag gett bort det. :)

Goda vänner är bra att ha. Goda vänner som lånar ut sina fina bokstavsstämplar är ännu bättre att ha. :) Tack vare finaste Jenny kunde jag pimpa både den här och förra bokstaven (More happiness) med namnet på sidan. I like. Måste se till att skaffa mig såna här själv. Snart. :D

Good friends are good to have. Good friends that lend me their letter stamps are even better. :) Thanks to sweet Jenny I could embellish both this and the previous letter (More happiness) with a name on the side. I like. Gotta come around to getting me some of these. Soon. :D

Bokstaven är beställd som en födelsedagspresent till en tjej, och många av de saker jag har med betyder nåt särskilt, som kändes passande för henne (fast jag faktiskt inte känner henne alls!)....kanske mest logiskt för mig visserligen men jag får väl hoppas på att hon läser det här och ser min tolkning.

The letter is ordered as a birthday gift for a girl, and many of the things I placed on it means something special that I felt fitted her (although I actually don't know her at all!)....perhaps only to me but I'll have to hope that she reads this and understand more.

Oturligt nog är denna bild oskarp, men ändå. Herr Pingvin fick behålla sin vackert mönstrade mage denna gång, och lyftkraft från två ballonger; en i svartmönstrat och en i vellum. Herr P här står för mod och att våga, för nog krävs det mod för att flyga iväg med en ballong.
Texten vid sidan om lyder "Be yourself - everyone else is taken".

Sadly this pic is slightly out of focus. Mr Penguin got to keep the beautifully patterned belly this time, and got lift from no less than two balloons; one in black pattern and one in vellum. Mr P here stands for courage and to dare, cause surely it takes courage to fly away with a balloon.
The text next to it says "Be yourself - everyone else is taken".

Hela bokstaven. Färgvalet var grått/svart/vitt med inslag av silver och rött. Det gråa mönstrade bakgrundspappret är lagom rörigt, men ändå diskret nog för att inte ta över helt.

Jag har fått höra att hon gillade den. Det gillar jag. :)

The complete letter. My given colors were grey/black/white with hits of silver and red. The grey designer paper in the back is just about enough patterned, but still subtle enough not to take over.

Some more pics, as promised. First one more with the pretty paper. :)

Den stora luftballongen, myntet, frimärket och den nedre texten tillhör ursprungsdesignen och sen la jag till ett par extra vita, embossade moln, de två övre "frimärkena", texten "fly high" och den mindre ballongen.

The big balloon, the coin, the stamp and the sentiment at the bottom are part of the original design of the paper, and I added a few embossed white clouds, the two stamps at the top, the 'fly high' and the small balloon.

Jag tänkte att det kunde vara kul om det fanns plats för några personliga råd/tankar/välgångsönskningar från givaren, så på högra sidan knåpade jag ihop en liten ficka med plats för ett par tags.

I thoúght it would be nice to make room for some personal advice/thoughts/greetings from the giver, so on the right side I made a small pocket, wich holds a few tags.

Så till sist sidan av själva bokstaven. Namnet på mottagaren, och en liten swirl, stämplat i puderrosa och embossat i silver och vintage.

Åååh, nu håller jag tummarna för att det här uppskattas som gåva lika mycket som jag uppskattar att tillverka det!! Happiness all around. :)

Jag fick beställning på studentpresent; första bokstaven i studentens namn, och den stora dagens datum skulle vara med - i övrigt fick jag fria händer. :) Så här tolkade jag det...

Det här fina pappret har jag velat hitta rätt användningsområde till ett bra tag, och nu äntligen! Tillsammans med mina nya stämplar [I like!] blev det ett väldigt "luftigt" tema, och nog kan man tänka sig att en student är på väg mot nya, spännande och svårnavigerade platser i livet, lite som en luftballong. ;)

Datumet är med! ...liksom trollsländeberlocken för lycka och "xoxo" för kärlek.

Det känns inte riktigt färdigt utan en fjäril...eller två.
Snart kommer fler bilder på finesser och detaljer så kom ihåg att kika in igen.....men jag har lite annat att stå i först, så håll ut! ;)

Aim for the stars

Det här är ett kort till en 18-årig kille. Inte är det väl fusk att använda sig av ett "förtryckt" kort...? :)
Jag tog ett silverfärgat, stjärnmönstrat kort som bas och lät stjärnorna bli ett genomgående tema för kortet. För att få lite djup i kortet använde jag 3D-kuddar runt kanten av den utskurna cirkeln och fäste ett stjärnmönstat papper med lite glitter där bakom. På det satte jag sifferstickers, och stämplade en halv luftballong. Jag fick embossa med svart för att få den att fästa ordentligt. Sen stämplades och embossades den lilla luftballongen ovanför cirkeln. Ett tredje stjärnpapper användes för själva "ballongen" som stämplats, klippts ut och limmats på kanten. Samma papper användes sen till grattishälsningen (och det pappret fortsätter en liten bit in på baksidan, se nedan), och som avslutning limmade jag dit några rhinestones.

Tjuvtitt på insidan med uppföljande luftballonger och samma stjärnmönstrade papper som i cirkeln. Första gången jag använde luftballongerna, och jag kan lova att det kommer att bli fler... :D

Mors dag idag, och korttillverkning är på sin plats. Det blev två likadana (till mamma och svärmor), lite snabbt och enkelt. Att det blev rött och blått beror på att fotot på barnbarnen som de fick i present går i de tonerna. :) Ber om ursäkt för den lilla oskärpan.

Mother's day today, and card making is suitable. I made two alike (for mom and mother-in-law), swift and nimble. I choose red and blue theme because the photo of the grandsons that was the actual gift are in these colours. :) I'm sorry for the slight lack of focus.
En röd småprickig bas med en remsa ljusblått med något större prickar, och över den en mönstrad OCH mönsterklippt remsa. Ovanpå den i sin tur, ett "band" i vit plast med kristaller. Alla kanter chalkades i svart, och texten är också svart. Som sista touch en ljusblå tygblomma och en vit pappersblomma som hålls ihop med en röd brad.

A red base with tiny dots, a strip of light blue with somewhat larger dots and above that a patterned AND shapecut strip. On top of that a plastic "ribbon" in white, with rhinestones. All edges chalked in black, and text in black too. Finally, a baby blue flower, a white flower and a red brand for that 3D-effect.

Inne i kortet återkommer samma papper, fast här i rund form, och en liten remsa med det blommönstrade pappret. Även här blev det svarta kanter. Det ser inte så ut här, men in- & utsida är lika stora.... :)

Inside's the same patterned papers, but rounded, and a itsy-bitsy strip of the paper with flower pattern. Black edges here also. Doesn't look like it here, but the in- & outside are the same size... :)

Jag är en härmapa. :) Jag blev så förtjust i den lilla kycklingen jag använde för ett tag sen, så när jag fick anledning att göra en presentbox åt en liten tjej var dekorationerna självskrivna.

I'm a copycat. :) I became so fond of the little chicken I used some time ago, so when I got the opportunity to make a gift box for a girlie the decorations were axiomatic. "Axiomatic", now I've learned a new word too, cool :D

Naturligtvis (och lyckligtvis) blir det aldrig exakt likadant, och den här gången blev det en hemmagjord blomma med blad, och några dew drops i rosa på toppen av den genomskinliga asken.

Naturally (and luckily) it won't ever be the exact same, and this time I used a home made flower and leafs, with some rose dew drops on top of the transparent box.

Blomman är gjord av tre stansade cirklar, varav en lite större med vågig kant och två mindre helt runda. Jag knycklade ihop dem, inkade kanterna lite slarvigt och fäste ihop dem med en brad. Bladen är utklippta på frihand, skårade med ett falsben för att likna bladnerver och inkade i kanten.

The flower is made of three punched circles; one scalloped and two smaller plain ones. I crincled them, inked the edges a bit sloppy and put them together with a brad. The leafs are cut in a free form, scored with the bone folder to imitate the veins, and inked along the edges.

Asken var röd, så för att binda ihop färgerna lite bättre fäste jag först ett vitt sidenband och sen en rödrosa rosenmönstrad tejp över. Skarven doldes med en grön knapp.

It was a red box, so to bind it all together a bit more I attached a white silk ribbon and then a pink/red rose patterned adhesive tape on top of that. I covered the seam with a green button.

Inuti asken, under silkespappret, hittar man denna söta lilla sak med egenhändigt textiltryck.

Inside the box, underneath the tissue-paper, you'll find this cute little thingie, with personal print.

...och i nacken ett litet tryck med flickans namn.

Nu återstår att se om såväl beställare som mottagare blir nöjda. :)

Ljuspunkter i tillvaron

Igår var det terminsavslutning på bästa Mixgruppen, och vi hade med en liten present till "fröknarna" som tack för den trevliga terminen. Det är verkligen en av veckans favoritstunder med alla goa barn och bebisar, och deras (oftast) mammor. Så här såg presenterna ut:

Yesterday was finishing day of amazing Mixgruppen, and we brought a small gift for the "teachers" as a thanks for the nice semester. It's relly one of the highlights of the week with all the sweet kids and babies, and their mums. This is what the gifts looked like:

Kanske syns det inte så bra, men det är en ljuslykta i metall/glas med ett grönt ljus, som vi hoppas kan lysa upp under sköna sommarkvällar. Naturligtvis var jag "tvungen" att fixa ett kort till också. :)

Maybe it's not showing too well, but it's a candle light holder in metal/glass with a green candle, wich we hope will alight those lovely summernights. Of course I "had to" fix a card to go with it too. :)

Ett egentligen ganska enkelt kort med enbart stämplade motiv. Min gamla ängel stämplades i vaniljvitt och rött, och embossades med Silver Pearl. Sen maskade jag motivet och stämplade staketet i grått som bakgrund. Fick tillfälle att använda min nya fina textstämpel också, och till den valde jag en skimrande olivfärg, för att ta upp ljusets färg.

Actually a rather simple one-layer card with only stamped motifs. My old angel was stamped in vanilla white and red, and embossed with Silver Pearl. Then I masked the motif and stamped the fence in grey as a background. Got the opportunity to try out my lovely new sentiment-stamp too, and for that I choosed a shimmering olive green, to match the candle.

Här ser man bättre hur ängeln ser ut. Vackert glittriga vingar, rödtonade hjärtan och gröna ögon....

Here's the angel from an angle. *lol* Spiffy glittery wings, reddish hearts and green eyes....

Ja, det är två fröknar, så det blev två presenter. :) Nu längtar vi till höstterminen!

...and since there's two teachers, there were two gifts. :) Now we're longing for the fall semester!

En kort notis om ett kort... :) Färgfyllt för att matcha den glada buketten, och med ett budskap som matchade färgerna dessutom, och uppbyggt som ett klassiskt "kidnapparbrev" med ord från diverse stämplar. Ett gammalt chipboardhjärta från gömmorna passade perfekt till temat.

A short note about a card.. :) Colorful to match the happy flowers, and with a sentiment to match the colors too, and bulit up as a "ransom note" with words from various stamps. An old chipboard heart from my stash fitted the theme just right.

Jag har blivit utsedd till Top 3 hos både Scrappekammeret och Stampin with the Dragon nyligen, så otroligt roligt
TJOHOOOO! :)

Hos Scrappekammeret bidrog jag med Home away from home i deras challenge "Alt er tillatt" och visade mitt andra HOME.

Stampin with the Dragon hade en challenge som de döpt till "May day flowers", och där deltog jag med min altrade bodylotionburk från Pretty in pink.

Jag är så glad att andra gillar det jag gör, och att få utmärkelser bland alla dessa otroligt begåvade scrappare som deltar i de olika tävlingarna är en ynnest. Tack snälla snälla ni! <3

En lek med färgglatt papper och blomsterstickers slutade i en lek med ord.... Man blir glad av det här kortet, och det är ju lite meningen att man ska vara glad på sin födelsedag. :)

Playing with colourful paper and flower stickers ended up in a play with words.... One becomes happy from this card, and that's kinda the idea; you should be happy on your birthday. :)

Härligt glittriga blommor och ett par glimmande glasblommor fick förstärka blomsterprakten som redan fanns på pappret.

I used lovely glittery flowers and some shiny glass flowers to enhance the flowerage already on the paper.

Närbild på min lilla fågel, som är ett hopkok av stämpelfågel (ben och svans) och träkropp. Stjärtfjädrarna embossades med grönt glitter och blommorna på kroppen fick lite extra bling med hjälp av Glossy Accent och löst glitter stösslat ovanpå.

A closer look on my little birdie, wich is a nifty rehash of stamp-bird (legs and tail) and wooden body. The tailfeathers are embossed with glittery green and the flowers on the body got a little extra bling by means of Glossy Accent and loose glitter sprinkled on top.

Här är en närbild på "låset". Man trär helt enkelt kortfliken under blomman så håller det sig stängt.

Closer peak of the "lock". You simply slip the card flap underneath the flower to keep it closed.

Insidan är inget märkvärdigt, ett löst kort med stämplat "happy" upprepade gånger.

För ett tag sen visade jag förslag på presentaskar (Little chick) på bloggen. Nu äntligen har jag gjort klart den som kunden inte valde. Inte för att det var så mkt kvar att fixa på den, bara lite glittriga swirls, och en lös tag... Så här blev det iaf:

A while ago I showed some suggestions for gift boxes (Little chick) on the blog. Now, finally, I've finished the one that the customer didn't pick. Not that it was that much left to do, just some glittery swirls and a loose tag.... This is the result anyway:

Närbild på texten på tagen. 4an är maskad och stöpplad med cerise stämpelfärg, och "you" stämplat och embossat i silver.

Closeup of the tag. The 4 is masked and stippled with cerise stamp colour, and "you" is stamped and embossed in silver.

Lilla burken igen. Det är för övrigt en fd bodylotion-burk....från Oriflame om jag minns rätt. Precis rätt rosa ton för mina rosa ranunkler. Fjärilen drar väl i ärlighetens namn liiiite åt lila, men vem är SÅ petig? Den var perfekt för att vippa omkring lite på toppen. ;)

Tiny pot once more. It's btw an emty jar for bodylotion....from Oriflame if I remember corretly. Just the right shade of pink for my pink crowfoot. The butterfly is, to be honest, a wee bit on the lilac side, but who's THAT picky? It was just the thing for fluttering over this creation. ;)

Prinsessa och hund

Ännu en beställning på prinsesstryck, denna gång i grönt och blått och dessutom på hjälm i stället för mössa. Nema problema. :) Setet är skickat och mottaget, och köparen blev nöjd. Skönt!

Another order for a princess, this time in green and blue and in addition on a helmet instead of a cap. Nema problema. :) The set is sent and received, and the buyer was pleased. Nice!

Tyvärr tog det lite tid för mig att få iväg det, så jag skickade med en hjälm till som lite plåster på såren. I mina gömmor hittade jag den här lagom kaxiga hunden, som jag tyckte passade perfekt. :)

Unfortunately it took some time for me send this, so I added one more helmet for goodwill. In my stash I found this saucy little doggie, wich I thought to be perfect. :)
