Signs of love



There are so many things to try out there! One of the things would be this, Aged wood signs. A LOT of work, but with truly rewarding result, don't you think? Who would guess these plank pieces started out looking brand new?? Not me. :)

 



The process includes using power tools (yay!), sandpaper, rusty nails, saw, steel wool, vinegar and paint. Oddest combo so far.

 

Making the wood look and and distressed takes time, but I think the most time-consuming part is cutting the stencils....Oh I wish santa will send me a digital diecut gizmo!

 



Since stencilmaking isn't the most fun part I just combined the stencils I made to make different messages. That works. :)

 



For this last one, I used both masking and stencils in multiple layers.

Time-consuming or not, I need to make more!

 

 

I also made a few paintings with a curtain for canvas, they'll be up here soon.

Going nuts

My MINT project inspired me to do more word jokes, so here's a 10 seconds post about a late nite snack pack for the hubby. That is - I did the project late - he'll probably eat it on the way from work tomorrow evening. :)
It's a bag of sorted nuts and raisins (and btw, I've got one for that too, later) that I simply stapled a personalized topper onto: "Nuts about you"...

Now, I'm off to bed!

MINT to be

I also had to go buy some mint chocolate today, and create a gift wrapping for it. I wanted to use this sentiment really bad! 

I'm such a sucker for word jokes like this, and mint chocolate isn't bad either.... not that I got to taste it though. :P

Have a heart

It's been a whole lot of sewing going on here lately!

 

 I believe I ended up with 14 or 15 of these little sweethearts,  this years Valentine-project. :) You know what they are, right?

 Warmers in the shape of a heart, filled with rice, beans, wheat and whatnots. I even added some scent in the form of mint teabags! LoL
Just put it in the microwave for a minute and you'll have a warm cosy "beanbag" for your frozen fingers.
OR, you can keep it in the freezer to cool down swellings, bug bites or even for headache. Being a mother of two active boys, mine will definitively go in the freezer. ;)

I made some fitting tags and safety-pinned it directly onto the heart (with directions on how to use the hearts on back) and sent my boys to school and daycare with a bunch for their teachers, and gave others away to friends.
Both making and giving was super fun! I should do stuff like this more often...

forever love mini album

I've been meaning to try and make a mini album for a long time, they are sooo cute! This is my first try, a mini mini album, measuring 5x5 cm (2x2").

 To make the cover more sturdy, I used cardboard and glued it to the back and front of the album.
A nice butterfly paper enhanced with ice stickles, three blue gems and a stamped sentiment made a pretty front.

 The album pages are made from two long strips of paper, scored and folded accordion style. Each fold also makes pockets for tags, all but one facing upwards.

 Flipping through the pages. Place for photos and journaling tags, plus a tiny pocket with an extra tag.

There you have it! I'm hooked.... and already working on my next mini. :)

Color me happy

En kort notis om ett kort... :) Färgfyllt för att matcha den glada buketten, och med ett budskap som matchade färgerna dessutom, och uppbyggt som ett klassiskt "kidnapparbrev" med ord från diverse stämplar. Ett gammalt chipboardhjärta från gömmorna passade perfekt till temat.


A short note about a card.. :) Colorful to match the happy flowers, and with a sentiment to match the colors too, and bulit up as a "ransom note" with words from various stamps. An old chipboard heart from my stash fitted the theme just right.

För ett tag sen visade jag förslag på presentaskar (Little chick) på bloggen. Nu äntligen har jag gjort klart den som kunden inte valde. Inte för att det var så mkt kvar att fixa på den, bara lite glittriga swirls, och en lös tag... Så här blev det iaf:

A while ago I showed some suggestions for gift boxes (Little chick) on the blog. Now, finally, I've finished the one that the customer didn't pick. Not that it was that much left to do, just some glittery swirls and a loose tag.... This is the result anyway:

 Närbild på texten på tagen. 4an är maskad och stöpplad med cerise stämpelfärg, och "you" stämplat och embossat i silver.

Lilla burken igen. Det är för övrigt en fd bodylotion-burk....från Oriflame om jag minns rätt. Precis rätt rosa ton för mina rosa ranunkler. Fjärilen drar väl i ärlighetens namn liiiite åt lila, men vem är SÅ petig? Den var perfekt för att vippa omkring lite på toppen.  ;)

Tiny pot once more. It's btw an emty jar for bodylotion....from Oriflame if I remember corretly. Just the right shade of pink for my pink crowfoot. The butterfly is, to be honest, a wee bit on the lilac side, but who's THAT picky? It was just the thing for fluttering over this creation. ;)

Show me love

Nu kan jag äntligen visa min andra uppsättning LOVE, för nu har den nått mottagaren. Första omgången hittar ni här, om ni vill jämföra. Texten "The greatest of all is LOVE" är vald av kunden, en klockren text om ni frågar mig, och kunden. ;)

Now I can finally show my second set of LOVE, cause now it's reached the recipient. The first set you'll find here, if you wanna compare. The text "The greatest of all is LOVE" is choosen by the customer, a brilliant text if you ask me, and the customer. ;)

Stående bokstäver i MDF, ca 10 cm höga

Lite av en utmaning att klämma in ett så långt ord på första bokstaven, men det blev väl helt okej, eller hur? Här kommer närbilder på varje bokstav, tyvärr liiite suddiga men så går det när man har bråttom.

Somewhat of a challenge to squeeze such a long word onto the first letter, but it turned out alright, didn't it? Here's some closeups on each letter, sadly a little bit blurred but that's what happens when you're in a rush.

Blommorna i L:et har fått en extra touch med äkta Swarowski-kristaller, vilket dessvärre inte syns så bra på bild. Uppe på V:et vilar en liten fjäril, och det kan ni iaf få se lite närmare på:

The flowers in the L got an extra touch by some genuine Swarowski-crystals, wich unfortunately isn't very easy to spot in a photo. On top of the V rests a tiny butterfly, and that I can give you a closer look at:

Happy Valentine's Day! Jag är sjuk, så det har inte blivit nåt pysslat i år, men jag får bjuda på lite konserverad kärlek istället. :) Den här burken är bara sååå söt! Ännu ett reafynd från Åhléns, en kryddburk i porslin med urfint svartvitt blommönster.

And, since I'm thinking about entering some blog challenges with this, I'm doing the whole thing also in english. We'll see later on if I ever did enter... :)
Happy Valentine's Day! I'm ill, so there's been no crafting done this year, but I'll show you some canned love instead. :) This jar is simply adorable! Another bargain from Åhléns, a spice jar in china, with the cutest black/white flower pattern.

Jag vet inte riktigt hur jag tänkte när jag köpte den här, för jag köpte bara en enda. :O Dagen efter insåg jag mitt misstag och gick tillbaka för att köpa fler, men då fanns det bara två stackars burkar kvar.... och de är mina!
Frågan är bara när jag ska kunna skiljas från dem... *hehe*

I don't really know what I was thinking when I bought this, cause I bought just one. :O The next day I realised my mistake and went back to buy some more, but by then there were only two left.....and they are mine!
Question is when I'll be able to part from them....

All you need...

Alla hjärtans dag precis om hörnet, så det kan väl passa bra med lite loooove. De här gjorde jag som bröllopsgåva till goda vänner. Jag gillar att det är lite neutrala färger och inte bubbelgumsrosa och sockersött. Romantiskt är det väl iofs ändå, men det ska det väl vara när det handlar om bröllop och kärlek? :)  Häromagen blev jag klar med en annan uppsättning LOVE, med lite annan text....men det får jag visa en annan dag. ;)

En present jag gjorde till en väns födelsedag. :) Man kan göra många bra och roliga fynd på Åhléns....den här burken är ett av dem. Nåt slags oglaserat porslin, med precis lagom mycket mönster på för att jag skulle få plats med lite mer. Jag stämplade "full of" direkt på burken, och limmade fast chipboardbokstäverna, bandet och knappen. Två glittriga röda hjärtan fullbordade det hela.

I burken la jag ett minialbum, så det blev två presenter på sätt och vis. Jag har inte hunnit redigera alla albumbilderna ännu, men ville iaf lägga upp själva burken ikväll. :) Antar att resten kommer imorgon....

Det var verkligen SÅÅÅÅ kul att pensla, dutta, stänka och scrappa fram den här. Jag hade fått förfrågan om en "dekoration, ett hjärta eller nåt" bakom honörsbordet och tänkte och tänkte och 

tänkte

på hur jag skulle göra. Så här blev det! Brudparet blev jättenöjda, och jag också. Tjohoo! :)
