blog coma

Hi Y'all!
I hope you've been enjoying spring like I have. I guess it is like that sometimes, too much real life interfering with my blog life... Well, now it's time to pick up the pieces. I have quite a few things to blog about, my creativity wasn't inflicted by the blog coma, luckily.
But, since I nowadays also have a job to go to (no more all-night scrapping for me) I have to leave you with just a little something and promise to be back soon!

Match this

These are just a few of the matchboxes I made for the Easter fair....

All of the matchboxes were unique, but I forgot to take the camera with me, so this is what's left. :)

Sunny side up

Easter's over by now, but I just have to show this second verison of the easter-letters. Colored in mostly yellow and blue, there's a sunny skies-feeling over it that I like very much.

Embossed swirls and a few paper roses.

Little chicks and a flower ribbon that goes all around the letter.

I looove this pretty paper. The only extra decoration needed was a stamped cloud, enhanced with glitter.

The bonjour-ribbon is actually a tape, wich I folded over the edge.

A few gemstomes for this simple decoration.

The focal point is of course the flower and sentiment, but the faint swirl on the left adds extra dimension.

 Birdies...
 ...and butterflies.

Here's a closer look at the Å swirl, with tiny "waterdrops".

On the wishlist

Last week my little baby turned 5....wich, I guess, means he's really not a baby at all. :O
On his wishlist was things like LEGO and a Star Wars-sword and a real horse (yikes!) and - bless his big big heart - "one of those letters you do mom, they are so pretty". Who can resist such a cute request? I sure can't, so here's what I made for him:
He wanted a red letter, and I found this cool paper that is boyish but not too childish in style, filled with bikes wich is good in two ways. 1. He loves bikeriding, and 2. I finally got a chance to use my bicycle-buttons!

Again I used the wired heart, with a smaller heart inside. For me, the big heart symbolizes our love, protecting and embracing his - the smaller - heart, and life.
I also tagged it with his date of birth, using "supercool, real screws" to attach it. :)

Just hangin'.

The hearts and &-sign are stamped directly onto the H, and then embossed. The sentiment is pieced together from two stamps (I love you and Friends are forever).

A tree for growing, and a dog because he LOVES dogs. If he could, I bet he'd be a dog....

He wanted his name on there too. :)

Pale pastel easter

Finally some scrapbooking after all this sewing. Happy happy easter letters filled with the joy of spring: the budding flowers, the awakening butterflies and the delicate colors of the sky and the growing nature.

However happy they make me, I didn't make them for personal use. I hope to sell them at the local Easter fair in a few weeks. Keeping fingers crossed! :)

Edit: The Easter Fair got snowed in...or whatever you wanna call it when you're supposed to be outdoors and there's a blizzard. Tough luck.
They are still for sale. ;)

Don't cry

Today I've had a very productive day. Looks like I've befriended my sewing machine, finally. I find myself making up projects that involve fabric, and with fabric comes the need of sewing, mostly. It's really not that hard after all. Yaay!

Here's the result of one days efforts. A neat little pile, or ja, two piles.

I also had the chance to make use of the top part of the t-shirts from the scarf project as lining material for these, wich is double goodie. Not only does that mean less waste, but a really cool splash of color for the otherwise strict-looking darker cases aswell.
Oh, in case you wonder what this is.... they are paper napkin cases. I got mine from a  friend some time ago, and I love it and have it in my bag always.
So much prettier than that flimsy plastic "case", and a really sweet little gift for anyone that is likely to carry paper napkins, a.k.a. ANY girlfriend/mother/grannie you know. Right?

Tomorrow I hope to share with you some good old scrapbooking, far from any sewing machine. See ya! :)

Be near me

Another experiment. Here I wanted to re-use/recycle some letters that I previously used as masks for Happy now. First, I layered them on top of it all, but felt they were too visible there with all the yellow, so in the end I painted over them, making them barely visible at all. Can you see them?
So, from a distance it looks like it says "love me", but it really is "Love, be near me". I like the subtle presence of the underlaying words, and how they really change the entire meaning of the sentiment.
